Thank you for reading rexyedventures.com and I’m sure you want to know the tall, dark, handsome, ‘rexy’ stranger running this site!

Well my name is Ed Rex (waves hello!) and I am a twenty something lad originally from East Yorkshire, UK. Describe myself? Hmm, I have a tendency to love wacky hats, I admit I’m very vain, I’m arrogant but caring, I can’t sleep with my head facing south, my phone never leaves within 2 feet of me, I love Star Wars but not Star Trek, I was too old to like Pokemon but I did, I am profoundly deaf, I love baths but only with my rubber duck, I have freakishly monkey-like long arms and giant feet, I have a very dry and also a very silly sense of humour, I’m a huge fan of Glee, I love bollywood dancing, I have a pathological fear of slugs but not snails, but the best thing of all… I LOVE TRAVEL. Or that I Love Amy Pond from Doctor Who. (Mum doesn’t approve).

After 2 years working for a water company as their regulatory expert of sorts; completed University degrees twice in the field of Environmental Science; held down a number of jobs; I suddenly experienced my ‘quarter life crisis’ and it was a big ‘un.  I suddenly realized that I actually hadn’t done that much travelling as I wanted to do so hence I made it my mission to travel as much as possible and do it the Rex Way!

‘Rex Way? What way? You may ask, ah that will be the definitive post once I get my first proper travelling since starting this blog sorted out.

I have spent a lifetime dreaming of travel and I got my first tastes of it when I hitch-hiked to Paris from Leeds, spent a month volunteering in Uganda, dirty weekend in Amsterdam, screamed at Take That in Munich, and mostly experiencing the beautiful countryside of Great Britain!

It wasn’t supposed to be like this..by now I should have been in a manager’s job thriving with ambition in the corporate world whilst campaigning for environmental issues. Also, have a house sorted out with an installed dishwasher..sorry Amy…and living it up!

But no, my heart lies in a different direction. Travel. Culture. Experience. Heck, I can be The Doctor to Amy Pond! Hence, why I’m making it my mission to present you with this amazingness that is Rexy Edventures to show my globetrotting chronicles around the world past, present and future. I also want to give you tips, give you advice and best of all, inspire you. If I, a profoundly deaf guy, can do it, then you can to!

One of the biggest reasons for creating this site is that UK people can travel in the UK! It’s amazing how many UKers dismiss their country as travelling. Britain has a lot to offer and I’m making it my extreme mission to show you the wonder that is Britain!

Also, I’m thinking about travelling abroad in far flung countries and therefore just swotting up from other people’s blog before making an informed decision where to go. You know what they say… ‘so much to see, so little time’.

But meanwhile, enjoy what I give you Britain and watch this space for further Rexy Edventures!
