Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Guys!
Did you have a sneaky glass of champers in the morning? Did you sing Fa-la-la around the xmas tree? Did you put the turkey over your head? And did you have lots of festive family fun? Well I did!…not the turkey part though.
I had a smile throughout the week! Why? Because of my fan-tabulous early xmas pressie to myself.
I bought my flights for my 2012 Travel Rexy Edventures!
Throughout most of November and December, I’ve been working with STA Travel and eventually Round the World Experts in finding out the best possible travel plans for me!
And I got the tickets!
Physically!
It’s in my hands!
I cannot bloody wait!
‘Where are you going?!’ You may scream. I will tell you!
On the 25th March, I will be boarding a BA Flight from Heathrow to…..Bangkok!
Yes, I will be going to Thailand and the rest of SE Asia. I cannot wait for SE Asia, it’s my most read about area so far. So I shall be saying hello to:
Thailand – Hangover in Bangkok, Full Moon Party in Koh Pha Ngan, Snorkelling in the beaches of Koh Lanta, Trekking in the highlands beyond Chiang Mai, Learning Thai Cooking and Massage, and many more!
Cambodia – seeing Angkor Wat at Sunrise, visit the Killing Fields, chillax on the beaches of Sihanoukville, the main cities of Siem Reap and Phnom Penh, and many more!
Vietnam – Ride a motorbike in the countryside of Mid-Vietnam, Crusing in Halong Bay, Measured for a suit of my design in Hoi An, exploring the Mekong Delta, and seeing the two main cities of Saigon and Hanoi, and many more!
Laos – taking in the colonial French architecture of Luang Prabang, Tubing in Vang Vieng, experiencing the star-enriched skies above the 4000 islands of Don, and many more!
Malaysia – see the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, the Jungle, the orang-u-tans! And many more!
Singapore – Seeing the small districts of the city such as ChinaTown, Little India etc, attempting to buy a Singapore Sling in the Raffles Hotel, buying dirt cheap electronics in the many centres and many more!
Woop woop!
I got to be in Singapore by mid June to catch a flight..home? No! It’s onwards and upwards for travelling!
From Singapore, I shall be flying to Cairns in Australia!
From Cairns, I shall be working my way down the East Coast going through Brisbane, Gold Coast, Byron Bay, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide via the Great Ocean Road.
Hopefully, I will be able to secure a temporary job in either Cairns or Brisbane to fill up my money pockets again and experience the wonder of Australia. Whether it is going into the outback, snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef, seeing the wonder of Uluru, Sydney Bay, holding a Koala and many more. I just cannot wait!
I also hope to pop over to Perth on the west coast for a brief time as my very good housemate from Newcastle has emigrated there so it would be swell to meet up with her and see her adopted Australian way of life.
This will be the longest time in a country I will be spending in as from Mid June, I will be there until Mid September when I need to get a flight from Melbourne..home? Of course not!
From Melbourne, I shall be landing in Auckland in New Zealand! Lord of the Rings Country!
I’ve booked myself on the Funky Chicken Pass with Kiwi Experience Bus so that will definitely be a great Rexy Edventure!
There I shall see Queenstown, Christchurch, Auckland, Taupo, Milford Sound and especially the Franz Josef Glacier! I may dare myself to do extreme high adrenaline activities. I’m still working myself up for the Bungee Jump!
Then I have to hightail it to Auckland in mid October to catch a plane…home? You guessed it again, of course I’m not!
All that travelling sure will tire me out so that’s why I’m going to Fiji in the South Pacific to recuperate…ah bliss. Looking at the blue seas, the blue skies and not a care in the world while I’m island hopping around 🙂
But not for too long as I have a plane to catch…home? Ready? Of course not! I want to carry on travelling!
On to Los Angeles in USA! Find out the American way of life.
I will be joining a tour group and hopefully 2 of my great friends from home to go round Western America hitting Vegas to gamble and take in a show, camping in the Grand Canyon, watching the wildlife of Yellowstone, holding on to the trolley buses of San Francisco, and walking the beaches of San Diego.
Then by mid November, I have to catch a flight from LA to? Any guesses? It’s not the Arctic, it’s not Brazil, it’s not any place in Africa…but actually…home. For 8 months I will be travelling around the world fulfilling some fan-tabulous Rexy Edventures in 2012.
And you know what?
I cannot wait.
Ed xxxx

Sounds stunning Mr. Rex 🙂 I’ve done most of that besides Singapore and only been to Auckland in NZ so if you want any info let me know. One word of advice is don’t drink the water or have ice in your drink anywhere!! And make sure when you’re tubing in Laos make sure you’re back before its dark, we got stuck and had to come back in the dark…its freaky!!!
Wow, sounds like an epic adventure! It is going to be amazing – we’re looking forward to keeping up to date with your travels. I did a very similar trip so if you need any advice just give me a shout. Happy travels 🙂
Ummm…..woooooooooooooooooohoooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! I seriously cannot wait to read all about your adventures Ed – woop woop! =)
Can i come?
