So Matt and I finally arrived in Siam Reap after a loooong 16 hour bus journey from Laos. You know what? It was gonna prove to be worth it.
After meeting up with Alannah, who couldn’t stop raving on about Siam Reap, I was looking forward to what it will hold but first off, we had to pay pilmagrage to Angkor, a group of temples that lie north of Siam Reap, including the oldest spiritual building in the world – Angkor Wat.
It is impossible to see all the temples in one day so after grabbing our famous tuk tuk driver – Mr Batman (more from him later) we hightailed it to the entrance booth and bought a 3 day pass. We were pretty excited as you can see.
Also, we were tickled pink by looking at our photos on our passes.
Entering the holy grounds of Angkor, we decided to leave the best til last. There are 2 circuits you can undertake – little and grand. As we also wanted to see the smaller temples, we opted for the little circuit today.
There’s nothing much I can convey to you in words so I think I’ll let the pictures do the talking. They are in one word – AMAZING!
It was a great day!
