You get given a free day in Taupo for yourself after a journey from Rotorua because you know what it’s the adventure capital of the North Island! There’s so much for you to do and I decided to take on a….SKYDIVE!

I’m doing the funky chicken in 4 weeks time and found your blog on twitter. How many days would you recommend in Rotorua and then Taupo? Is it easy to stay extra nights in places that aren’t ‘free days’ and do many others do that?
You can get on and off as many times throughout any stop in new Zealand and stay extra nights. Just remember to book your bus when you want to leave and they will have a place for you.
For Rotorua I’d recommend 1 night. There’s an amazing Hangi feast that you have got to go on.
Taupo? I would say 2/3 nights going down and just 1 going up.
