As I landed in Dublin for TBEX (Travel Blog Exchange) Conference, I had already signed up to a Walking Tour with Pat Liddy, a tour that I was eagerly anticipating as it is well-known to be one of the best walking tours in Ireland. You know I love walking tours. I think it’s the best way to gain an insight into the city from a local perspective whilst discovering the best and unique places to visit on your own afterwards. Just check out my walking tours in Marvellous Munich, Lovely London, Exciting Edinburgh and Brilliant Berlin.
Pat Liddy’s Walking Tours of Dublin started off at the tourist office opposite the Bank of Ireland, where you are enthusiastically greeted by Pat Liddy himself and several guides. Unfortunately, Pat Liddy wouldn’t be doing the guiding today and I was disappointed that I would get to hear from the main man himself. But I needn’t feared as we got a local Irish guide (I’m so sorry, I forgot her name!) who constantly kept picking on me and bantering with me due to the fact I was British! It was all in good jest! Her insights into the city and her interpretations of significant cultural and historical events proved to be the highlights. And don’t get me started on her infectious laugh at the funny stories that she giggled out. Just remember to ask her why the bell of Trinity College hasn’t rung!
Before I knew it, the tour was over. A three-hour walking tour was over just like that! That is a mark of a good walking tour if you aren’t wondering when the tour will end.
If you would like to know more about Pat Liddy’s Walking tours – click here. Tickets normally cost 12 Euros and approximately lasts two and a half hours.
Meanwhile, enjoy the pictures I took from the Walking Tour.
