Did you know that Belgium truly has a big secret?

It’s called Ghent, the old capital of Flanders. I was recommended by Visit Flanders to check out the gorgeous city on my Belgian trip, ‘#RexyinBelgium‘ starting from Bruges and finishing in Brussels. I had a couple of choices really, I could either go to Ghent, Antwerp or Ypres. However, tired from my ferry crossing the night before from Hull to Bruges and spending a stressed day in Bruges, I was pretty happy to go to a city that I admittedly haven’t heard of before. And you know what? It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made this year.

After I checked into Hostel47 in the centre of Ghent, I went exploring amid the evening twilight and within minutes, I fell in love with the beautiful city of Ghent. Actually, for the rest of the evening, I had a mantra that I kept repeating: ‘This is where I would live on the continent!’ The next day, I simply continued to fell in love with the city and its people. Did you know Belgian people are rather good looking? Perhaps more than their French neighbours?

But before I tell you everything I found about in Ghent, I’m going to show your 33 pictures as reasons why I think Ghent is just so stunningly beautiful. if you want to find out more, why not check out the Visit Gent Website?
