What better way to find a trip more adventurous than a cruise. I should know, I went on one in September into the Fjords of Western Norway. The vast ocean, dozens of cruise ports in lesser explored regions of the world, exhilarating excursions and plenty of new friends – these are just a few reasons why this is such an adventurous type of vacation to take. There are many fantastic cruises to satisfy the adventurer in you, but here are 5 of the greatest.

Norwegian Fjords

Norwegian Fjords

The breathtaking Norwegian Fjords are a sight (they are truly breath-taking, like the time I saw myself in the mirror) that not many people get to experience, which makes it a fantastic and unique adventure to undertake. Travelling through this region in the world you will be treated to many incredible sights, plus you also may get to see one of the most sought after and majestic experiences in the entire world – the astonishing Northern Lights. Oh, my giddy aunt! I still yet to see the Northern Lights and I hope a cruise in winter in the Northern hemisphere will let me see!

The Galapagos Islands

Nature lovers will adore the Galápagos Islands, which is a volcanic archipelago found 1,000km off the coast of Ecuador in the Pacific Ocean. As an isolated terrain, it is one of the world’s greatest destinations for wildlife viewing with many endemic species of plant and animal. I know I’d love to get up and close like David Attenborough!

Scandinavia and Russia

Copenhagen

Scandinavia and Russia are areas of the world that not many people travel to, but perfect for an unforgettable adventure. This cruise will take you around a beautiful part of the world, as well as incredible cities such as Bruges, Stockholm, Tallinn, St. Petersburg and Copenhagen. Many of the cities are amongst the most historic on Earth with amazing architecture and plenty of cultural activities.

Antarctica

Cruise

“The Great White Continent” is the setting of many historic and fictional adventures, but sadly somewhere that not many people travel to. This bucket-list destination has otherworldly landscapes, beautiful wildlife, breathtaking glaciers and amazing vistas. This will be one trip that will give you stories that will amaze those back home – the sign of a great adventure.

Panama Canal

Cruise

Another must-see place is the Panama Canal – a man-made canal connecting the Atlantic Ocean with the Pacific Ocean which is hailed as one of the great achievements of the 20th century. Travelling along this epic canal you will see incredible tropical rainforests, the Gatun Locks and the Mexican Riviera.

In addition to the destination, you must also choose a top cruise agent, like Iglu Cruise or other cruises that will give you the best deals, widest choice of cruises and the option to book different excursions.

These five cruises are sure to satisfy the adventurer in you and show you some of the most beautiful, intriguing and lesser-explored areas of the planet.

So, are you ready to tackle the seven seas? Where will you be going first?
