Gosh! Now that's what I call a breakfast burger!
I stared, amazed, at the gigantic feast of delights that laid before me, all full of sausage patties, eggs, black pudding, bacon, hash browns and more. This, my friends, is arguably the best thing on the menu at Nibble Cafe Hull.
Before I could sink my teeth that already had a sheen of hungry saliva into it, Thomas, my fiance, piped up at the other side of the table:
Happy Birthday, Edward!
Oh yes! That's what we are here for. It's to celebrate my latest rotation around the sun for the 40 (mumbles..th) time. I grinned at him. It was still early to mid morning and what better way than to fill your belly (and I really mean, you're stuffed full) with this breakfast burger.

About Nibble @ The Dock
Known as one of the best known independent cafes in Hull, Nibble @ The Dock (or Nibble Cafe Hull as I refer to my friends outside of the city), is THE place to go for either breakfast, brunch or Lunch with their opening times usually ranging between 9am - 3pm (check their Facebook page for confirmation).
With their relaxed, modern feel of an atmosphere, you will be able to see all kinds of people visit the venue from great attractions and activities close to walking distance such as exploring the Hull Marina, Humber Street, The Fruit Market or The Deep. More so, there's now a connecting bridge from Princes Quay meaning that even from the centre of Hull, it's a quick cheeky walk to get your coffee fix.
One of my favourite things to discover about Nibble Cafe Hull is that it is dog-friendly - a perfect tick in my opinion, being an owner of a people pleasing labradoodle, so I shall be attending again soon.
So, other than their great coffees and cakes, you can certainly see on their updated blackboards that they have an exciting range of homemade food to try out, whether that they are exceedingly tasty grilled cheese sandwiches, loaded fries or even other dishes that cater to dietary options - e.g gluten free, vegan etc.

Birthday Brunch at Nibble
Moving back to the Breakfast Burger, I took my first bite, feeling the perfect crunch of the hash brown and immediately tasting the warm goo of egg intermixed with the DOUBLE (yes, you heard right) sausage pattie.
I'm not gonna lie, it was pretty darn good! With a beast of a burger, I couldn't fit it all in my mouth and opted to deconstruct the burger, slowly appreciating every bite taken. I was well and truly stuffed, my readers. It was extremely great value for money for this high-quality homemade food.
Very shortly, my latte coffee arrived, piping hot and ready to wash down the burger. Taking time to sip, I observed the already busy surroundings, thanks in part due to artists getting their morning coffee before their sets at the Humber Street Sesh Festival later on that day. The staff were extremely friendly, always there with a smile, a generous welcome for when you arrive and always ensuring your water jug is kept filled.
Soon, both Thomas and I plotted what to do for the rest of the day - a shopping trip was on the cards but where? I confess that I have fallen back into collecting the popular Pokemon cards and it was extremely rare to find them anywhere now. But, as we went to pay for our meal, one of the staff members recommended a market stall in Hull Trinity Market, which was just a quick 10 minutes away. We appreciated the suggestion and Thomas mentioned that it was also my birthday too!
Well, they were absolutely pleased that we spent a birthday brunch at their establishment and prompted me to choose a complimentary cake slice from their display for my celebratory day.
Despite my humble thanks, I already decided (inwardly) on the very cake I wanted - the Cookie Pie Cake! I had spied it immediately as I walked in and took our seats right in front of the cake display - the Cookie Pie Cake was full of chocolatey and creamy layer goodness. Boxing it up in a cute package for me with a handwritten note of 'happy birthday!' I was touched by the gesture and I was determined to savour the extremely delicious looking cake slice later on the day... I was really stuffed from the Breakfast Burger to have it then!

We soon left, still morning time, and ready for the day ahead.
So, what did I do for the rest of my birthday? There was a hunt, a rescue and broken shards. Intrigued? That's another story for another post!
